Winner! June competition!

I am so pleased to announce the winner of my June competition! Thank you all for your interest. The winner of the Limited Edition Victorian outfit by Morbid Mausoleum worth L$1500 is: Lor Galaxy. I'm sure you will agree that her entry was most apt for the outfit and her reasoning was perfectly atuned! Read her entry below and thank you Lor for your hard work in coming up with this!

Morbid's Consumption - The Red Death

Lor Galaxy

06/14/09

I give you the following definition for many reasons. Some people do not understand that Consumption, The Red Death and Tuberculosis (or TB) are the same deadly infectious disease. When I look at your beautiful creation I also see the great master of horror Edger Allen Poe's chilling tale The Masque of the Red Death. This fantastic story was based on his wife Virginia's battle with this horrid affliction. How she was covered, down the front of her long flowing nightgowns to her feet, in her own blood after it had forced her to cough up her lungs that were consumed by this plague. Many times it was a black, blood red color and very lacy. As your lovely gown is.

I know it is a grosume discription and just hope you will consider my idea. thank you for taking the time to look at my suggestion, and i hope to have this lovely example of Victorion and Goth finery in my collection very soon.

slGoth Nautilus Event June 2009

NAUTILUS ANNUAL FESTIVAL - WITH SLGOTH
SATURDAY 13-SUNDAY 14 JUNE 2009

WOW! You really must come and see the wonderful slGoth Nautilus area for this year's festival! Its a beautiful area where you can join in the event, party, shop and get some great gifts from some of SL's best designers!

Details can be found at the slGoth website here: slGoth Nautilus Festival and the location of this is: Nautilus 2009 Annual Festival

The lovely Marsha Warwillow of slGoth magazine has done a fantastic job organising the slGoth area for all you die-hard goths out there! There are also special gifts that can be obtained in the area in addition to the shopping booths! Marsha kindly took some stunning photos of her wearing my special prize that I have donated:

I was inspired by the British sea goddess, Morgan le Fey. Very often she is depicted in a negative way - being seen as the bringer of bad fortune or death due to many of the Avalon stories having been rewritten over the years. There is also discussion about whether she is the British equivalent of the Irish goddess Morrigan.

In this creation, I didn't portray her as a mother or crone, but rather as a maiden of the sea, beautiful and ethereal. I hope that I have been able to acheive a slightly otherworldly look to this ensemble and hope that you all enjoy!

Also, because I love you all so much - there is an exclusive free gift - in addition to the Morgan Le Fey outfit - available in my booth at the festival. A cute little black and white dress that will be suitable for all occasions - dress it up with heels, jewellery and makeup, or dress it down with heavy goth boots and black eyeliner - the choice is yours!

I also have my new release available which is available in three colours and includes a beautiful sculpted prim corset with prim detailing to the front! Morbid's Fleurs de Lis is available for L$99 just for the event - it will normally be L$250 - so grab yourself a bargain :)
